This, the fourth of a 5 part series, adds to my belief that Akart is a one book wonder who pads out his work just to pocket more money.Just look at all of the truly good authors who can write multi-volume stories that not only continue across the entire story arc but each book can not only stand on it's own but will draw you into wanting more of the series. This is a level of writing that is foreign to Akart...As with the previous books this one goes on for page after page of mind numbing filler words that neither interest the reader no moves the story along! It's easy to imagine Akart sitting there just tracking the word/page count so he can push one more volume out and get paid.Normally I finish what I start but at the end of this book I decided to go to Amazon and cancel my pre-order of the 5 volume. I have also permanently deleted all 4 of the volumes I've purchased and read.I believe our time as readers is valuable and I resent any author that wastes it by just pushing words to get a bigger paycheck!Simply put, this is another Akart storyline that could have and should have been a one volume story! Again Bobby Akart leaves you breathless but begging for more. The Albright family has endured hell and high water literally as they fight man and nature to get back to Driftwood Key, the one place they feel safe with family.As they will soon learn Driftwood Key has had to face its own problems thanks to a serial killer and the injuries he has inflicted on the family members who were waiting for Lacy, Tucker and Peter. Everyone in any and all governments should read his books and learn from them.Bobby has weaved another outstanding story of what can happen to this fragile world we live in but more importantly one that we must heed if we want to survive. I have called Bobby Akart the King of TEOTWAWKI many times in reviewing his books; I have not changed my mind one bit as I read Nuclear Winter. He has the ability to scare the hell out of you but at the same time create characters that you truly care about. You will be sad as if the character that died is a friend because he makes them not only real but makes them the kind of people you want by your side when TEOTWAWKI does arrive.I have loved every one of Bobby’s series and his stand alone books but this series may well be my favorite. A truly great read in a great series and I cannot wait for Book 5.
